SQUADRON OPEN HOUSE and FLY DAY

The squadron fly day fundraiser was held on Saturday, September 8^th.  We had a great turnout from the public for this event.  The aircraft were kept busy all day giving rides.  We sold jeep rides in the CAF jeep, provided lunch, sold t-shirts and hats, conducted a raffle and signed up two new members.  A very successful event in all regards.  Many thanks to all the squadron members who helped, the Col ’s ladies for all their hard work with the meals and all the volunteers who helped make this a successful event for us!  Check out the squadron website for more photos.  www.caf-dewline.org

SQUADRON STAFF/BUSINESS MEETINGS

The staff/business meetings have been changed to 5:30 pm on the third Thursday of the month, just prior to the regular squadron meetings.  All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.  The meeting is not exclusive to staff members only.  Please come to the meetings, make known your views and get involved! 

Summary of Aug Business meeting:

• Dew Line Open House – almost the entire meeting was spent working the details of the Open House scheduled for 8 Sep 2007.
• CAF Jeep – six members committed to sponsor the CAF jeep.  Sponsorship was set at $25 per quarter per person to cover the annual insurance required for the jeep and a little extra.  Sponsors are Bill Johnson, Glen Larson, Nick Nelson, John Webb, John Jowell, and Bruce Graham.  If you are interested in being a jeep sponsor, please contact Bill Johnson.

WTW C-45 PROJECT

The last work date was held Saturday, July 28^th  in Guymon Oklahoma .  Check out the DEW Line website for the latest update.  Please contact Col. Jowell for details on the next work date.

SQUADRON LEADER COMMENTS

A big “Well Done” is extended to all those who helped with the open house event, members and guest alike!  Of note and unfortunately for me, I will not be able to attend the Thursday meeting as Vicki and I are off to the Colorado cabin Wednesday.  I was looking forward for the shrimp boil.  Hate to miss it.  Anyway, we’ll be back in the saddle this coming Monday.  See ya’ll then.  Nick
